At the end of the day, only the players can decide their future.

This is not just a question of politics. This is also a matter of business. Whoever runs the nation’s soccer competitions and the national team stands to gain (or lose) from FIFA’s decision.

However, the people of Indonesia do not want to know about those things. Soccer has become a part of our dignity as a nation.

The soccer saga has been dragging us down. We couldn’t even make it into the final round of the 2012 AFF Cup, not to mention our enormous 10-0 loss to Bahrain. And that is because the dualism in competitive leagues and poor soccer management in our country.

This is driving us crazy. If it is about soccer, then they should settle it with soccer. Combine the two competing leagues and let them compete with each other. The winner should be given leadership of soccer in our country. Let the winner take all.
