Garut Regent Aceng Fikri has been found guilty for violating multiple laws for marrying a 17-year-old girl, identified only as FO, in an unregistered Islamic marriage ceremony in July, the Garut Legislative Council (DPRD) said on Wednesday.
Aceng breached Law No. 1/1974 on marriage for failing to register his nuptial, the head of the council’s special committee on the case, Asep Lesmana Ahlan, said during a plenary meeting.

In my opinion, he was “unconscious” when he did it. Everybody could see how arrogant he was on TV, explaining how he didn`t do it on purpose, how he didn`t look down upon the female gender and that he grew up with many sisters.
But several days later, he visited his ex-wife and apologized for his behavior, why? Probably because he was afraid of being ousted from his post.
He should be taught a lesson. I agree that he should resign. The investigation has been completed ... why wait ?

This man should be dismissed immediately and charges should be brought against him.
If he doesn’t obey the law in his personal life, how can anyone trust him as a regent handling finances and other matters?
