akarta Governor Joko Widodo made his first official visit to Thousand Islands regency on Sunday since assuming office in October.
During his visit, the governor instructed Thousand Islands Regent Achmad Ludfi to develop tourism in the regency. “The governor wants tourism to develop here,” the regent said as quoted by tempo.co.
Achmad said he had not been informed of the governor’s visit and that he was caught aware by the impromptu visit. Thousand Islands is the only regency where Jokowi failed to gain a majority of votes.
