14 civil servants dropped from Jamkesmas

A

total of 14 civil servants in Surakarta municipal administration office will no longer be entitled to Jamkesmas (people’s health insurance), pending verification next week.

Surakarta Health Agency official, Purwanti, said the 14 civil servants’ health schemes had been covered by PT Askes and therefore they would not need cover from Jamkesmas.

“The proposed number of people being dropped from the Jamkesmas scheme may increase as we are currently conducting verification,” she added.

The administration also recorded 75 civil servants who have not been covered by Jamkesmas.

“They used to be covered [by Jamkesmas] but not anymore. They are poor and need to routinely take medication due to their illnesses,” Surakarta Health Agency head Siti Wahyuningsih said.

Mayor FX Hadi Rudyatmo said civil servants who were not covered by Jamkesmas would receive health insurance from the municipality.
