he National Narcotics Agency (BNN) announced on Wednesday that it had no evidence to charge National Mandate Party (PAN) politician Wanda Hamidah, who was among a group of people arrested during a drug raid last week.
“Based on our investigation and witness testimony, the agency concluded that there is insufficient evidence to prosecute Wanda Hamidah and Sri Dewi Hidayati Silvi,” BNN spokesman Sumirat Dwiyanto said during a press conference on Wednesday.
Wanda was cleared of all charges and released on Wednesday afternoon after being detained for four days.
Previously, the agency said that its would keep the Jakarta Legislative Council member in custody despite her having had tested negative for drugs. The agency said that it needed to question her further as she still could have breached the Narcotics Law.
Wanda was among a group of people arrested at the home of popular television personality Raffi Ahmad in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta. They were initially accused of holding a drug party.
