Bekasi rocking duo The Experience Brothers made their second visit to Singapore, playing on the closing day of the Mosaic Music Festival 2013.

The duo, who are biological brothers, made a remarkable comeback on March 17 to the Esplanade’s outdoor theater on a double headlining day with Filipino band Razorback.

The duo were in awe; the crowd they had for the Sunday performance was bigger than at their debut at the same place nearly a year ago.

“We are so happy. I didn’t dare to imagine this; we had a dream of playing our music in Singapore and now? It’s been twice we’ve played there,” said Daud Sarassin, the drummer. He established the band with his younger sibling, Ibrahim Saladdin or Bram, the singer and guitarist.

The duo stole attention with their unique stage performance. There are always only the two of them playing but it sounds like a full band. Daud fills the arena with his drum set while Bram provides the ambience with his guitars that are connected to amplifiers, producing the merry bass, rhythm and raw sounds that please the crowds.

Bram, who usually takes the lead in communicating with the audience, was nervous, delivering dead air for a few seconds before starting the show.

“Each time we start to hit the stage, it always feels like the very first time we’re playing in front of people. I experienced one of my most anxious moments when I began the set last week,” said Bram.

In total, the Brothers played 14 songs in two sessions. The response was also awesome; almost all their records and merchandise were sold at the venue. They flew home with only a few remaining CDs of their albums.

“For me, the best part was seeing people respect our music by buying our records and merchandise after the gig,” said Daud.

“We’re hoping for another comeback sometime soon,” added Bram.

The Brothers was not the only Indonesian act that performed in the two week music festival. Indie pop band White Shoes and the Couples Company were also performing on stage.

At the moment, the Brothers is working on their third album. They can be followed at Twitter.com/theexpbrothers.
