igh school students in South Sulawesifinally took their exams after three days of delays. In three regencies, exam papers still were not distributed properly andstudents there started their exams several hours later.
In Gowa, Bone and Palopo, insufficient materials were delivered and teachers had to photocopy the papers themselves. Even so, three senior high schools in Gowa didn't receive any material for their social studies major students and they will have to take the exam next week.
Head of South Sulawesi Education and Culture agency Abdullah Jabbar tried to justify the situation, saying that as long as the photocopying was done under tight monitoring of a comptroller from the Education and Culture Ministry, everything would be fine.
'Overall, the organization of the national exam is adequate even though we are still facing some glitches here and there,' he said.
South Sulawesi is one of the 11 provinces that cannot comply with the exam schedule that has been set to have started early this week.(dic)
