akarta Deputy Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama confirmed that 16 hospitals had withdrawn from the Jakarta administration's healthcare program, Jakarta Health Card (KJS), due to their objections to the
government's reimbursement policy.
'We are sorry that these hospitals experienced financial losses during their participation in this program,' Basuki said on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.
Basuki promised that a thorough evaluation would be conducted to find a win-win solution for this problem.
Participating hospitals are currently protesting the administration's reimbursement policy as it is based on the Indonesia Case Base Group (INA-BCG) model issued by state-owned health insurance company
PT Askes, which according to the hospitals causes them to suffer serious financial losses.
According to the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD), Thamrin Hospital and Admira Hospital have officially withdrawn, while the other 14 had filed objections and planned to submit their official withdrawal
letters.
Besides evaluating the reimbursement policy, Basuki added that the administration would also evaluate the insurance premium level, which currently stands at Rp 23,000 per resident per month and is paid by the administration.(nai/dic)
