N

ational Mandate Party (PAN) deputy chairman Drajad Wibowo said he regretted the actions of party members in Muna Regency that resulted in the death of Amiluddin Kunsi.

He said the incident was unnecessary and not in line with the party'€™s code of conduct.

Drajad'€™s statement was in response to the fighting between two PAN Muna Regency branch secretaries, Amiluddin Kunsi and Ilhas Muhammad. The local police named Ilhas a suspect in the case.

'€œWe are now discussing the dismissal of Ilhas,'€ Drajad said as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.

According to witnesses, the fight occurred after the two were involved in a heated debate regarding who should be on the top of the prospective legislative candidate list (DCS).

Southeast police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Abdul Karim Samandi said Alimuddin was hit on the neck with a blunt object so severely that he fell unconscious and later died. (nai/dic)
