ewly installed Jambi Police chief Brig. Gen. Satriya Hari Prasetya has vowed to eradicate corruption and illegal mining in his new jurisdiction.

'€œI will prioritize graft cases and illegal mining. Our one-year target is to tackle 16 graft cases,'€ he said on Saturday.

To prove that he means business, a minimum budget of Rp 208 million (US$21039.84) per graft case as been allocated to finance investigation activities.

As for illegal mining, he acknowledged that it was increasing in Jambi and therefore strong measures were necessary.

'€œWe are investigating illegal mining in Jambi. We will use any possible tools to track the culprits,'€ he said. (hrl/dic)
