Vegetables prices creep up

Vegetables price in Bogor, West Java, have creeped up following the official announcement of the subsidized fuel-price hike.

Antara news agency has reported that the price of green chili increased to Rp 28,000 per kilogram from 26,000 after the announcement was made.

"Prices for everything have gone up . Carrots, for example, normally sell for Rp 6,000 per kilogram. They are now priced at Rp 9,000-Rp 10,000 per kilogram," Tini, a food stall owner, said.

Tini said that she had not raised prices at her stall yet as she was afraid she would lose customers.
