Tropical Storm Dalila ( dah-LY-lah ) is strengthening as it moves away from Mexico's Pacific coast and could become a hurricane by Tuesday.

The storm has maximum sustained winds of 70 mph ( 113 kph ). The storm is centered about 290 miles ( 467 kilometers ) southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, and is moving northwest at 6 mph ( 10 kph ).

The government of Mexico has discontinued tropical storm warnings and watches for the coast.

Dalilia was expected to bring winds and rain accumulations of 1 to 3 inches to the country's coastline over Monday and into the night.
