fter gaining millions of followers on his Twitter account, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has decided to join Facebook and has created an account on video-sharing website YouTube.
Yudhoyono launched his Facebook fan page and YouTube account at the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java on Friday, after a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
"At the launch, set to be held at 8 p.m., the President would also deliver a presentation on the utilization social media as facilities to convey important messages and other matters related to the President's activities directly to the people," presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said.
His debut on microblogging site Twitter has been internationally recognized as a success. Less than three months after its official launching in April, Yudhoyono's twitter account, @SBYudhoyono, has garnered 2,324,000 followers.
