he East Jakarta District Courtpanel of judges has sentenced First Brig. Nugroho EkoKrismianto and construction worker Saiful Anwar to six year in prison for sodomizing a 5-year- old boy in Ciracas, EastJakarta.
'The defendants have been found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and were sentenced to six years in prison,' presiding judge Harri Budi Setianto told the Court on Thursday, as quoted by Tribunnews.com.
The sentence was more lenient than the eight years demanded by the prosecutors.
Harri said that the panel of judges had given the defendants time to consider whether or not they wanted to appeal.
The case was first reported by the boy's parents after they had taken him for a medical checkup. (hrl/dic)
