he Jakarta Transportation Agency will implement traffic diversions around theState Palace, Central Jakarta, on Saturday as the palace will be hosting theIndependence Day ceremony.
Agency head Udar Pristono called on residents to avoid the area as the agencywould close Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat - Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara - Jl. Majapahit -Jl. Veteran Raya - Jl. Veteran I, II, III, Jl. Museum and Jl. Area Silang Monas from 5 a.m. to 12p.m. during the flag-raising ceremony and during the flag-lowering ceremony from2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Motorists planning to go to Jl. MH Thamrin - Jl. Sudirman from the north (Kota,West Jakarta) or the west (Jl. Suryo Pranoto) can use alternate routes throughJl. H. Juanda - Jl. Pos - Jl. Lapangan Banteng Utara - Jl. Pejambon - TuguTani and Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan.
Meanwhile, motorists aiming to go to Kota from Jl. MH Thamrin will be divertedto Jl. Budi Kemuliaan - Jl. Abdul Muis or Jl. Majapahit.
Traffic from Tugu Tani or Menteng Raya to Jl. Gajah Mada - Kota will bediverted to Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan - Jl. Budi Kemuliaan - Jl. Abdul Muis -Jl. Majapahit or Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur - Jl. Perwira - Jl. Lapangan BantengBarat ' Jl. Kathedral - Jl. Pos.
