tate railway company PT KAI is operating additional Argo Dwipangga trains to anticipated surge in the number of passengers leaving the city despite Sunday being the official end of the Idul Fitri holiday.
"We will operate additional Argo Dwipangga trains on Monday and Tuesday due to the huge number of returnees and those who have yet to obtain return tickets," said human relations manager of PT KAI Yogyakarta operations, Sumarsono, on Monday.
The additional Argo Dwipangga trains leave Balapan Station in Surakarta for Gambir Station in Jakarta at 10 p.m. Return tickets to Jakarta until Aug. 23 have been fully booked.
"Regular train tickets to Surabaya and Bandung until Aug. 23 are still available, although only a small number remain," said Sumarsono.
He urged passengers to book tickets at official travel agents instead of buying them from ticket scalpers.
"We have dealt with 14 cases of false identities because passengers bought their tickets from scalpers and their identities were not in accordance with that on the tickets," he said.
