he last batch of two Sukhoi Su-30 MK2 jet fighters arrived at Sultan Hasanuddin Air Force Base, just outside Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Wednesday afternoon.
The two double-seater jet fighters were part of a delivery of six jet fighters this year, completing the Indonesian inventory of 16 jetfighters, also consisting of single-seater Su-27s. Earlier batches arrived in February and May.
The jet fighters are operated by the 11th Air Squadron, consisting of 11 Su-30 MK2s and five Su-27 SKMs.
Air Force base spokesman Maj. Muliadi said the last two jet fighters came disassembled onboard a An-124-100 strategic airlift aircraft. He said the manufacturer, KNAAPO, also sent 13 technicians to assemble the jet fighters and conduct test flights before handing them over to the Indonesia.
