The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will prolong the detention of bribery suspect Bandung Mayor Dada Rosada.
'The extension is for the next 40 days,' KPK spokesperson Priharsa Nugraha said in Jakarta on Friday as quoted by Antara news agency.
Dada has been accused of being a key player in a bribe that was allegedly accepted by former Bandung District Court deputy head Setyabudi Cahyono during an investigation into the alleged misappropriation of Rp 40 billion (U$3.5 million) from social aid package funds.
The other suspects named by the KPK are former Bandung City secretary Edi Siswadi, Bandung Asset and Finance Management head Hery Nurhayat, middleman Asep Triana, Gasibu Pajajaran chairman Toto Hutagalung and Setyabudi.
Setyabudi, Hery, Asep and Toto's cases are currently being hearb by the Bandung Corruption Court. (hrl)
