-krazy Jakartans can enjoy more of what Korea has tooffer with a typical K-snack, comprising fried chicken and beer, as South Korean-based fried chicken restaurant Kyo Chon opened a new branch
in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The restaurant offers Korean-style twice-fried chicken, a process that reduces the oil content, and either spicy or honey dipping sauce.
Besides Kyo Chon, two similar Korean fast food outlets can be found in Jakarta ' Bon Chon and Lotteria ' the establishments are mostly located in the city's malls.
Located in premium Pacific Place mall, Kyo Chon targets the local middle and affluent class as well as Korean expatriates, who miss local food, said Kyo Chon Indonesia chairman Robbyanto Budiman during the food testing on Tuesday.
'We don't want to change the flavor and we never will,' he said, adding that the restaurant imported the sauces from South Korea.
Kyo Chon Indonesia is part of the Wahana Artha Group, which also owns Japanese restaurant Hanamasa and Singapore-based Ya Kun Kaya Toast.
