he National Narcotics Agency (BNN) will build atemporary rehabilitation center for drug addicts in Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi,in order to expand the agency's outreach in controlling the prevalence of drugusers in the country.
BNN's Sr. Comr. Susanti Lengkong said the agency had cooperated with the Momahe Medical Center to build its first rehab clinic in the area.
According to Susanti, the agency is represented in every province throughout the archipelago through Regency Narcotics Agencies (BNKs). However, she added, BNKs lacked human resources so the agency had to cooperate with other medical institutions to develop the rehabilitation center.
'In the future, the rehabilitation centers will be fully operated by BNKs. This is only an initial step for us,' she added, saying that the clinic would provide free services for drug addicts.
She added that the agency's expansion was especially necessary in Kolaka, a regency with various forms of transportation access that assisted the distribution of drugs.
