An aerial electric distribution cable in the Kemang Timur area, Mampang, South Jakarta, caught fire on Tuesday.
Witnesses said the fire was first seen at about 4:10 p.m.
'But the fire did not reach residential areas,' South Jakarta Fire Department operational unit head Mochtar Zakaria, was quoted as saying by tribunnews.com.
He said that the firefighters had cut the cable and that there would be an investigation into what caused the fire.
'We suspect an electrical circuit caused the fire,' Mochtar said.
