More than 75 percent of Indonesians not financially literate: OJK

T

he Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revealed that most Indonesians have very little understanding of financial products and services.

A recent survey on 8,000 respondents conducted recently by the OJK showed that 75.69 percent of Indonesians had no sufficient literacy on financial products and services.

'€œThe best literacy is on the banking sector with 21.80 percent of Indonesians having adequate knowledge about the financial products and services provided by banks. Despite this, only 57 out of 100 Indonesians opt to use banking products and services,'€ OJK Chairman Muliaman Hadad said as quoted by kontan.co.id.
