span class="inline inline-center">This file photo shows human rights and democracy activist Mulyana W.Kusumah who dies from lung illnesses at Dharmais Hospital, Jakarta, at 9:30 p.m., on Sunday, at age 66. Mulyana is a lecturer at the University of Indonesia'€™s School of Social and Political Sciences and the National University'€™s (Unas) School of Law. Born in Bogor, West Java, on Nov.23, 1948, Mulyana was one of the founders of the Legal Aid Foundation (LBH), a non-profit human rights organization that offers legal aid to marginalized people. He headed the Indonesian Committee for Free and Fair Elections (KIPP) in the mid-1990s and was a former member of the General Elections Commission (KPU) in 2004. [JP/Ricky Yudhistira]
