The Jakarta Transportation Agency and the city’s Traffic Police will redirect traffic during a parade that is part of the World Royal Heritage Festival on Sunday afternoon

Traffic at Monas to be redirected on Sunday

he Jakarta Transportation Agency and the city'€™s TrafficPolice will redirect traffic during a parade that is part of the World RoyalHeritage Festival on Sunday afternoon.

The parade, which is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., will start from the Northeast gate of the National Monument (Monas) and head to the Presidential Palace on Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara, Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat, Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan and end at the Southeast gate of Monas.

'€œWe will close Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara from 2 p.m. to clear the street from motorists for the preparation of the event. The closure will end at 6 p.m.,'€ agency head Udar Pristono said in a statement.

Motorists from Harmoni or Jl. Hayam Wuruk in West Jakarta heading to the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle will be redirected via Jl. Juanda '€“Jl. Pos '€“Jl Gedung Kesenian '€“Jl. Lapangan Benteng '€“ Jl. Pejambon.

Those motorists coming from the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle to Harmoni or Jl. Hayam Wuruk will be redirected to Jl. Budi Kemuliaan '€“ Jl. Abdul Muis and Jl Majapahit.

Motorists from Jatibaru heading to Tugu Tani will have to pass Jl. Kebon Sirih, while motorists from Tugu Tani to Jatibaru will go through Jl. Medan Merdeka Timur '€“Jl. Perwira and Jl. Lapangan Banteng.

During the cultural parade, Transjakarta buses on Corridor 2 plying Harmoni '€“ Pulogadung will not pass the shelters at Monas, City Hall, Gambir 1 and Gambir 2.
