ast Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police confirmed on Thursdaythat they had questioned Ngada Regent Marianus Sae concerning his role inblocking an airport runway in December.

'€œOfficers from the NTT Police'€™s criminal investigations division have questioned him,'€ NTT Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Okto Riwu told The Jakarta Post over the phone on Thursday.

Okto said the police might summon Marianus again if they needed additional information.         

Marianus allegedly ordered 15 Ngada Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) officers to block the runway of Turelelo Airport, Soa district, with their vehicles on Dec. 21.

The regent has been named a suspect along with the 15 officers for violating the 2009 Aviation Law.
