he Judicial Commission on Thursday filed a report with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against six judges who allegedly accepting bribes while handling a bribery case at the Bandung State Administrative Court and the West Java High Court.

The case has already implicated former Bandung District Court deputy chairman Setyabudi Tejocahyono, who is currently serving 12 years in prison, and former Bandung mayor Dada Rosada, who the Bandung Corruption Court has accused of bribing Setyabudi.

Setyabudi was overseeing the trial for the alleged misappropriation of Rp 40 billion (US$3.3 million) from the 2009/2010 social aid funds at the Bandung city administration.

'€œThere are six judges that I'€™ve just reported to the KPK,'€ commission commissioner Eman Suparman told reporters on Thursday.

However, the former commission chairman declined to provide further details about the six judges, but added that they were judges from the Bandung District Court and West Java High Court.

Two of the six judges are believed to be judge Ramlan Comel of the Bandung District Court and former head of the West Java High Court Sareh Wiyono.

Eman said that it was Setyabudi who revealed the roles of the judges to the commission and he already served as a justice collaborator in the case.

'€œThe KPK has already launched its probe and we already provided additional information [regarding the six judges] to the KPK,'€ Eman added.

Also implicated in the scandal is former Bandung City secretary Edi Siswadi, who is faced with multiple charges together with Dada in the case.

Responding to the commission report, KPK spokesman Johan Budi said that it could be used as supporting evidence by KPK investigators.

'€œWe will study the report comprehensively,'€ Johan said.

The indictment of Setyabudi has in fact confirmed the roles of the six judges.

In the indictment, which was read at the Bandung Corruption Court on Dec. 17, 2013, prosecutors said Setyabudi made a promise to Dada'€™s confidant Toto Hutagalung, who has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in the case, that he would organize a scheme that would acquit Dada and Edi as well as get lenient sentences for seven other defendants in the case.

Setyabudi then requested Rp 3 billion for his assistance as well as to pay for his efforts to win the case at the Bandung State Court and the West Java High Court.

According to the indictment, it was the head of the Bandung State Court Singgih Budi Prakoso, who accepted $15,000 in bribes, who appointed Setyabudi as the head of the panel of judges who heard the case. Other members of the panel were Ramlan and Djodjo Djauhari.

In the appellate court at the West Java High Court, the case was handled by Sareh, who then appointed an interim head of the court Jabar Kristi Purnamiwulan to set up a panel to hear the case.

Sareh has been accused of accepting Rp 1.5 billion from Dada through Setyabudi. Other members of the panel were Pasti Serefina Sinaga, Fontian Munzil and Wiwik Widjiastuti.

The indictment said that Pasti asked for Rp 1 billion, of which Rp 850 million was given to the members of the panel.
