Unsri student association (BEM Unsri) organized a rally on Tuesday, protesting the universal fee applied by the university for all students, regardless of their economic background.
'Most of the students come from low income families who could not pay the fee,' BEM Unsri chairman Hayrunizar said.
Meanwhile, the university's deputy rector Rochmawati Daud said students should pay the fee on Friday at the latest. 'We extended the deadline until Friday. But after that, if they don't pay, they must leave.'
