akarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi'Widodo has revealed that in addition to his official residence being bugged, his office at City Hall had suffered the same fate.
'This place is also being tapped. I have nothing to hide,' said Jokowi at City Hall.
"What of my guests? Most are contractors, suppliers and citizens. I welcome anyone, whether at home or at the office. It doesn't matter. Anyone who wishes to talk to me can do so easily. But if it's about a tender, just come along,' he said.
Jokowi added the city administration was cooperating with the National Encryption Agency (Lemsaneg) to safeguard any sensitive documents, especially those that had been electronically archived, for fear of further security breaches from irresponsible parties.
'Yesterday I asked Lemsaneg for an MoU to secure our documents because of that,' said Jokowi, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Three bugging devices were found in the dining room, living room and private parlor in the governor's official residence. Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) secretary-general Tjahjo Kumolo revealed the incident to the public on Thursday.
Jokowi did not report the incident to the police because he felt that there had never been any serious talks held at his official residence.
