As a someone who thinks about things visually, Nonita says that gadgets with high-resolution cameras and excellent screen resolution are what she needs.
iPhone
I used to keep a BlackBerry in my pocket. I wasn't familiar with the iPhone when people went crazy about smartphones, from the first version to the iPhone 4. Once I tried to use an iPhone that belonged to one of my friends, but I was challenged by its keypad ' I was too used to the BlackBerry's. I then tried iPhone's camera function and the results were so great. That was when I thought I needed to have one.
As for now, I mostly use the iPhone to take pictures of great and inspiring things. I also never forget to bring it whenever I jog because I have all my favorite songs on it.
LG G Flex
It's a new gadget I just bought ' an excellent tool that really suits my daily lifestyle. It has a superb camera function and the screen quality is fantastic as well. I'm often inspired by visual things I see ' from classic motifs of 1960s furniture or wallpaper to those on the ceramic floors in old houses. To capture that beauty, I use the camera function in my smartphones. Later, I can research it to help me in designing.
But I don't have any special applications on my smartphones ' just the basic ones.
What I also like about this LG G Flex is its resilience. I'm actually quite sloppy ' I can just sit anywhere. I'm used to keeping my phone in my pocket. With this phone, I won't be worried about accidentally breaking it.
An old phone
It's an old one ' only for phone calls and text messaging. I don't even want to mention the brand. Its been really helpful ' especially when I don't want to share my number for instant messages, like in WhatsApp.
Pencil and paper
I'm quite up-to-date with gadgets. I bring all of them along in my daily activities. Even so, as a fashion designer, I still do my drawings manually with a pencil and a paper. I admit, I don't know how to do digital drawing. When I need to transfer my drawings for a digital version, for example in my bedding set that was inspired by the parang motif in batik, I will ask someone to do it for me.
