Alter Bridge riled up thousands of fans on Saturday evening, as the American rock band made its local debut at MEIS indoor stadium in Ancol, North Jakarta.

Lead vocalist and guitarist Myles Kennedy, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips arrived in Jakarta on Friday after a concert in Singapore.

The show was opened by accomplished local alternative rockers Netral, comprising vocalist and bassist Bagus Dhanar Dhana, drummer Eno Gitara Ryanto and guitarist Christopher '€œCoki'€ Bollemeyer.

Netral warmed up the crowd with a 50-minute head-banging set that started at 7:35 p.m.

Alter Bridge took the stage just before 9 p.m., opening with their latest single, '€œAddicted to Pain'€, followed by '€œWhite Knuckles'€ and '€œCome to Life'€ from their latest album, Fortress, described as the band'€™s best received and most dynamic work to date.

'€œLook at all these people! We finally made it! This is fantastic!'€ Kennedy said to the audience before leaping into '€œGhost Of Days Gone By'€.

The band then belted out their signature blend of hard rock, metal and post-grunge to awaiting fans, giving up renditions of '€œOpen Your Eyes'€, '€œBroken Wings'€, '€œWatch Over You'€ and '€œRise Today'€.

Eyes opened wide as the opening chords of '€œBlackbird'€ sounded, with Kennedy and Tremonti each giving a virtuoso guitar solo. '€œBlackbird'€, by the way, was voted the greatest guitar solo of all time by Guitarist magazine in 2011, beating out Led Zeppelin'€™s '€œStairway to Heaven and Jimi Hendrix for '€œAll Along the Watchtower.'€

The concert in Ancol marked the end of the band'€™s Asian tour, which included gigs in Australia, Japan and Singapore.

Tremonti said that Indonesia was an important place for Alter Bridge to be.

'€œWe are seeing a very strong fan base in Indonesia, as we can see from their online presence,'€ said the lead guitarist.

Tremonti, Marshall, Phillips of the legendary Grammy-award winning band Creed joined forces with Kennedy of The Mayfield Four to form Alter Bridge in 2004.

The group took its name after a bridge near Tremonti'€™s former home in Detroit.

Alter Bridge released their debut album, One Day Remains, in the same yea to lackluster reception with less than a million copies sold. Subsequent albums, however, established Alter Bridge as a critically acclaimed, multi-Platinum band rock band.

The rockers have since become a constant presence on the international scene, releasing a new album every three years.
