Leading Indonesia rock-blues band Gugun Blues Shelter held a friendly jam session at The Jakarta Post's offices. The session was a promotion for the band's new album Soul Shaker.
The band, comprising Mohammad 'Gugun' Gunawan on guitar, John 'Jono' Armstrong on bass and Adityo 'Bowie' Wibowo on drums, wooed the crowd, mostly made up of journalists on a tight deadline, with hits like 'Funk No.2', 'Captain Morgan', and 'Good old days'.
'Promoting through printed media and radio suits our segment better,' Jono said on the sidelines of Thursday's jam session.
The band's frontman, Gugun, said the new album was reminiscent of the band's 10-year journey with all its ups and downs.
'We are sad but proud, after all these years. We have come so far,' he said.(meh/dic)
