span class="inline inline-center">Gugun Blues Shelter: Gugun Blues Shelter performs at The Jakarta Post offices during its promotional tour for its new album, Soul Shaker, on March 13. The band, comprising Gugun on guitar, Jono on bass and Bowie on drums, will tour the US in July.

Leading Indonesia rock-blues band Gugun Blues Shelter held a friendly jam session at The Jakarta Post'€™s offices. The session was a promotion for the band'€™s new album Soul Shaker.

The band, comprising Mohammad '€œGugun'€ Gunawan on guitar, John '€œJono'€ Armstrong on bass and Adityo '€œBowie'€ Wibowo on drums, wooed the crowd, mostly made up of journalists on a tight deadline, with hits like '€œFunk No.2'€, '€œCaptain Morgan'€, and '€œGood old days'€.

'€œPromoting through printed media and radio suits our segment better,'€ Jono said on the sidelines of Thursday'€™s jam session.

The band'€™s frontman, Gugun, said the new album was reminiscent of the band'€™s 10-year journey with all its ups and downs.

'€œWe are sad but proud, after all these years. We have come so far,'€ he said.(meh/dic)
