resident Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono'slawyer Palmer Situmorang suspects that Yudhoyono's political opponents mightbe behind former Democratic Party (PD) chairman Anas Urbaningrum's latest criticismregarding Yudhoyono's political financing.
"There is a possibility, but we are still collecting evidence [to prove it]," Palmer said without elaborating further on Wednesday.
"Anas might want to show that the Democratic Party will fail under the leadership of Pak SBY."
Anas recently stated that Yudhoyono may have received financing from the money originating from the Bank Century bailout. Previously, he also disclosed that he had been given a Toyota Harrier by Yudhoyono to steer discussions in the inquiry into the Century bailout at the House of Representatives in their favor.(dic)
