The Jakarta Police are deploying some 10,000 personnel to secure churches on Good Friday.
'One-third of the police force will be deployed to provide security,' Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Dwi Priyatno said as quoted by Antara news agency on Thursday.
He said the number of officers deployed in each area would be adjusted based on considerations of potential disturbances and mass concentrations.
He said the police would carry out thorough examinations of all visitors to each of the churches, as well as monitoring the security conditions in each vicinity. (put/nvn)
