ublicly listed industrial estate developer PT Kawasan Industri Jababeka (KIJA) plans to construct a US$120 million power plant in Cikarang, West Java, in a bid to capture potential business.
The power plant is expected to have a total production capacity of 130 megawatts.
'We are still studying this new power plant project,' KIJA's corporate secretary, Muljadi Suganda, said in Jakarta on Thursday as quoted by kontan. co.id, without providing further details.
Currently, KIJA runs the 130 MW Bekasi power plant in West Java, which has generated a sizable income for the firm.
The firm booked Rp 2.74 trillion ($239.85 million) in revenue in 2013, of which Rp 1.06 trillion, or 38.68 percent, came from the Bekasi plant.
'We aim to collect $100 million this year from the [Bekasi] plant alone,' he added.
