man was sentenced on Tuesday to 30 months in prison for selling water he claimed came from the holy Zamzam Well in Mecca, but that he actually drew from a well near his home in Central Java. The verdict was lighter than the three years sought by the prosecutor.

Thalib, 58, director of a firm called CV Ebin Thalib Mandiri, had made billions of rupiah selling the water across Java since 2011. He was also found guilty of not obtaining a legal permit for his company.
