otorbike maker PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing(YIMM), a subsidiary of Japan's Yamaha Motor Co., will start exporting productsnext month, Industry Minister Mohamad Suleman Hidayat said on Friday.
Exports would begin on July 7, the day when Yamaha celebrates its 40th year in the Indonesian market, Hidayat said.
'The motorbikes will be delivered to 16 countries, including ASEAN countries, Brazil and European countries,' he said, adding that the move would make Indonesia Yamaha's second global production base after Japan.
Yamaha has created a number of special products that are marketable in its export destinations, according to Hidayat.
At present the firm produces around 3.5 million two-wheelers in Indonesia, the second biggest producer after Honda.
