he General Elections Commission (KPU) has said that 190.2 million people have been registered on the final voter list (DPT) for the presidential election on July 9.
Previously in April, 185.6 million voters were registered by the KPU for the legislative election.
KPU commissioner Ferry Kurnia Rizkiyansyah confirmed, as reported by tribunnews.com, that 188.2 million of the total figure were domestic voters -- 94.2 million of whom were male and 93.9 million female voters -- while 2.03 million voters had registered overseas.
"This number was reached from the recapitulation conducted in cities, regions and provinces," Ferry said during the presidential election DPT meeting at the KPU in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Friday.
Ferry added that the number had been established by consulting an additional voter list, a special voter list and a first-time voter list detailing those people who will turn 17 before July 9.
"In conclusion, the DPT has an additional 2.43 million voters from the legislative election on April 9," he said. (fss)
