SKKMigas financial report '€˜perfect'€™: BPK

T

he Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has given the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force'€™s (SKKMigas) financial report an unqualified (WTP) status, the prestigious status indicates the best index of financial accountability and transparency.

SKKMigas acting director J. Widjonarko said in a press statement in Jakarta on Sunday that the last WTP status was given for the period of Nov.14 '€“ Dec.13, 2012 and the period that ended on Dec.13, 2013.

'€œIt'€™s an achievement we should be proud of. With this last achievement, there have been six times at a stretch the SKKMigas, previously named BPMigas, received the WTP status,'€ said Widjonarko as quoted by Antara news agency.

BPK member Bahrullah Akbar handed over the agency'€™s assessment report with the WTP opinion to Widjonarko in Jakarta on July 8.

WTP is the highest of four accountability levels, including qualified (WP), adverse and disclaimer, which indicate that a financial report is satisfying and has no problem.

Widjonarko said the achievement should encourage SKKMigas employees to continue the good work. Despite the achievement, he said, more was needed to improve the task force'€™s internal control and adherence to rules.

Widjonarko said SKKMigas was committed to following up all of the BPK'€™s recommendations. (ebf)
