Police say they confiscated dozens of boxes of expired food at a warehouse in the Benowo area of Surabaya, East Java, on Monday.
Surabaya Police chief Sr. Comr. Setija Junianta said the boxes of food, including Japanese noodles, tuna, crab meat and seaweed, which had been seized were about to be distributed to several Chinese and Japanese restaurants. 'The food was due to be distributed to top restaurants in the city. We are still investigating the case,' Setija said.
He said the warehouse was rented by a businessman who was currently overseas, identified only as ES, the owner of PT Chrisdy Putra Sejat.
