communal clash involving neighboring villages in Lereand Baru subdistricts in West Palu district, Palu city, Central Sulawesi, brokeout again on Thursday at around 9:30 p.m.
One home was razed by fire in the clash and police arrested a student for carrying a homemade gun.
The house, which was located precisely on the border between both subdistricts, was owned by Kadri.
Palu City Police Crimes and Intelligence Unit chief Adj. Comr. Joseph A.R. Sudrajat said residents burned the house because the previous night a teenager named Andri, Kadri's son, was involved in a slash attack.
Palu Deputy Mayor Andi Mulhanan Tombolotutu said in the slash attack case, the police and Palu municipality facilitated a peace meeting between the warring sides, during which they agreed that Andri be arrested to face charges.
