Indorama, Barbarians and Metro win

n an action-packed second week of the Apple Coal Jakarta Cricket Association (JCA) League for the 2014-2015 season, the Jakarta Barbarians thumped Ceylon, while Indorama and Metro beat, respectively, Menara and the Mavecrics.

At their home ground Purwakarta, Indorama beat Menara by 28 runs. Batting first, Indorama reached 191/9 in 35 overs, with Nitisn Joshi holding the innings with a well-made 65 runs. Indorama added 88 runs in the last 11 overs, after being 103/4 in 24 overs.

Neetesh Pansare took three wickets and Harish Tiwari Mamaji took two. Menara started brilliantly and were 80/2 in 11 overs. A middle-order collapse to 113/6 in 19 overs, however, was the turning point of the game, although Rikesh Parikh tried to fight a lone battle with a fighting 34 runs.

Mamaji made 29 runs including two sixes off the first three balls of the match. Menara were all out for 163 runs in 28 overs. Arjun Chauhan took three wickets.

At Cibubur, the Jakarta Barbarians '€” last year'€™s finalist in Division II '€” comfortably beat Ceylon by 84 runs.

The Barbarians made 194 runs, with Eki Antaria scoring 45 runs against his former team and Ben Burgess made 30 runs. Macha Dihan took three wickets, while Timothy and Mukesh took two wickets each. Ceylon was all out for 108 runs. Burgess picked up four wickets, while Kunal and Eki took three and two wickets, respectively.

At the Gandhi ground, the Metro Indians beat the Mavecrics by 38 runs. Batting first, Metro did well to reach 213 runs. Prabhu Kaliraj was the top scorer with 72 runs, while Anand made 44 runs.

The Mavecrics kept up the pace but lost too many wickets and reached 138/8 in 24 overs before being all out for 175 runs. Pandit ji Sameer and Shankar scored 23 runs apiece. Anand, Sakti, Prabhu and Suresh each took two wickets.

In the round-robin stage, each team in Division I plays nine matches, while each team in Division II plays 10.
