AKARTA: Bandung-based band Utopia says it will change its musical style following the arrival of its new vocalist, Novi.
'Following Novi's arrival, we are going to make more pop music. We will also compose songs that are easier to listen to,' Utopia drummer Tommy was quoted as saying by kompas.com.Previously, with Pia as vocalist, Utopia was known for its alternative rock sound.
Novi said she had never expected to replace Pia.
'I used to listen to Utopia's songs and I liked a lot of them. I had never been to their concerts. Then I had the chance to meet them through a friend and that was when they saw me singing for the first time,' Novi said. 'I also met Pia, who was very supportive.'
