33-year-old man of Indian descent, Kishin Rajindar, died after falling from the seventh floor of the Gunung Sahari apartment building in Pademangan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday evening.
'According to a preliminary investigation, the victim committed suicide,' Pademangan Police detectives chief First Insp. Suseno Adi Wibowo said on Wednesday.
Based on information provided by his family, Rajindar was an epileptic and he had chosen to kill himself after he suffered a relapse.
'His family has informed us that he had epilepsy. The disease can recur at any time,' Suseno said as quoted by kompas.com.
Rajindar had an apartment on the fifth floor, but was visiting a friend in a seventh-floor apartment when the incident took place.
Suseno said there was nothing to indicate that Rajindar, who worked for a textile company, had been murdered.
