JAKARTA: Media businessman and filmmaker Erwin Arnada has an offer he can't refuse. He has accepted the challenge from West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno to produce a movie on a local hero.
Erwin decided to produce a biopic on founding father Mohammad Hatta, kapanlagi.com reported on Thursday.
'The movement aims to accommodate and revive Hatta and his thoughts,' he said.
Hatta, the nation's first vice president, was the economist who set the emerging country's economic policy and focus on cooperatives.
'I consulted several historians for the research and there are about 50 books I used as a guideline [to write the movie],' Erwin said.
Erwin said that he has screenwriter Salman Aristo on his team.
'Everything is still raw right now, but we have plans to start filming in January,' Erwin said.
