A Central American migrant jumps on a northbound freight train as it pulls out of the station in Arriaga, Mexico. Less than two hours later, the train was raided by federal police and around a dozen migrants were taken into custody for deportation. The largest crackdown by Mexican authorities on illegal migration in decades has decreased the flow of Central American migrants trying to reach the United States, and has dramatically cut the number of child migrants and families, according to officials and eyewitness accounts along the perilous route.
