Islam forbids the taking of any human life, except for a just cause under the law (i.e. the Koran and Sunah) '€” that is, capital punishment for convicted murderers, fighting in wartime and self-defense.

'€œ['€¦] Whoever takes a single life [one soul], except if it be for murder or spreading mischief and corruption in the land '€” it would be as if he had killed the whole of humanity; and [likewise] if anyone saved one life, it would be as if he had saved the life of all people.'€ (QS: 5:32) (By Yuni Herlina, Depok-West Java)

Your comments:

Warfare was an imposed state in defense of belief/preaching, oh let'€™s not talk about the Romans. Curious, though, how you separate out the two from the mechanisms of development used by the resulting religions that evolved out of and from the preaching. Further, if one cares to research Christian history and/or the evolving of the Protestant sects, then we can easily determine the involvement of Christianity and the state. The base concept within democracy on the separation of religion and state is a Protestant thingy son (timelines).

Interestingly, the said Australian creatures involved in some of the most brutal acts would know as much about Islam as I would about rocket science.

I do concur, in one fashion, that perhaps Islamic State (IS) is an opportunity and I have trouble with this as it will cost so many innocents. Perhaps every single time an Islamic nation across the Middle East and the region gets up to speak in the UN, or any international forum, they should be asked: '€œWhat are you doing about the barbaric acts of IS in the name of Islam?'€ Don'€™t do it one time but every single time, at every single forum.
