nited Development Party (PPP) secretary generalRomahurmuziy filed a police report against former chairman Suryadharma Ali andparty member Sofyan Usman at the Jakarta Police headquarters in South Jakartaon Wednesday.
Romahurmuziy filed the report to protest Suryadharma's action to take control of the party's headquarters.
'They filed a report against Suryadharma and Sofyan under articles 406 and 170 of the Criminal Code for defiance of authority and property damage,' Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said Thursday.
Romahurmuziy said because of Suryadharma's decision to seal the party's headquarters on Jl. Diponegoro in Central Jakarta, party members had been unable to gain access to the building.
Several of the locks had been changed and the people guarding the area said they would only move if Suryadharma or Sofyan commanded it.
Rikwanto said that the police would immediately investigate the case to see who was truly behind the sealing of the headquarters.
