erindra Party chief patronLt. Gen. (ret) Prabowo Subianto has said that he is fine with the fact thatofficials from the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the United DevelopmentParty (PPP) are attending the Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) nationalmeeting.
'I have no problem with them attending the PDI-P national meeting,' Prabowo said without further elaboration on Saturday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
PAN deputy chief Drajad Marbowo previously said that his party was honored to be a member of the Red-and-White Coalition led by Gerindra and that he wanted to set a good example on how politicians with different stances could show respect for one another by attending the PDI-P national meeting.
In a similar tone, Emron Pangkapi from PPP said he was tasked by his party to attend the national meeting. Emron's statement sparked controversy as former PPP chairman Suryadharma Ali questioned Emron's move.
According to Suryadharma's camp, Emron attended the meeting on his own accord and thus was not representing PPP.
As many as 1,500 PDI-P party members from all over the country are attending the three-day national meeting in Semarang, Central Java.
