S progressive metal band Dream Theater is set to return to Jakarta for a concert at Lapangan D Senayan, Central Jakarta, on October 26 as part of their 2014 Along For the Ride tour.

The event, which is promoted by Variant Entertainment, will be the 29-year-old band'€™s second concert in the capital city, after previously playing in Jakarta'€™s now-closed Mata Elang International Stadium (MEIS) in Ancol, North Jakarta, in 2012. Variant was also the promoter of the band'€™s MEIS show.

'€œDream Theater will make their stop in Jakarta before heading to Melbourne and Sydney in Australia. They confirmed it in a promotional tour video in which [vocalist James LaBrie] confirmed that they would play here,'€ Variant Entertainment director Triady Noor said recently as quoted by kompas.com.

He said that in addition to Indonesia and Australia, the world tour would take the group to Japan and South Korea.

The Jakarta tour date has already been added to the band'€™s website, but ticket links have yet to be added.

Labrie added that the band planned to play a three-hour set and bring with them 10 tons of equipment and merchandise for the show.

The Jakarta Post reported that their 2012 show was attended by 12,000 fans.

Dream Theater is currently comprised of guitarist John Petrucci, bassist John Myung, vocalist James LaBrie, keyboardist Jordan Rudess and drummer Mike Mangini.

Former drummer and founding member Mike Portnoy left the band in 2010, resulting in Mangini'€™s inclusion in 2011.

The band'€™s latest album, Dream Theater, was released in 2013. In 2014, he band was nominated for a Grammy for Best Metal Performance for their single, "The Enemy Inside". (dyl/nfo)(++++)
