'Based on instructions from Jambi Deputy Mayor Abdullah Sani, we decided to give kindergarten and PAUD students a vacation. We have instructed the Education Agency to implement the order,' said Daru on Tuesday.

Jambi's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency's (BMKG) head of data, Kurnia Ningsih, said that as of Tuesday, 25 fire spots were detected in areas across Jambi. Of the total, 17 fire spots were in Sarolangun, followed by Muarojambi (three), Batanghari (two), and Merangin, East Tanjungjabung and West Tanjungjabung with one fire spot each.
'The haze is mostly from South Sumatra, to the southeast of Jambi. However, Jambi is still in the dry season so it could potentially contribute to haze in those areas,' said Kurnia.
